In Sony mission statement it is expressed that everything they do, is to move us emotionally. They actually don't express clearly WHAT they produce and not even HOW, but they focus on the WHY as Simon Sinek says. I think that Sony can omit the WHAT because nowadays it is a very important and known company all over the world and so, it now focuses on their passion and on their pursuit of innovation and our consequent satisfaction in using their products. This is how, according to Sinek, great companies operate and Sony is a great company.

I think that Facebook's Mission Statement would be considered just partially good from Simon Sinek, because I personally think that they're not completely honest. They say that they want to give people the "power", and that could be reconnected to an inspiring why, but I think the truth is that they wanted to change the world, and they did it. I would have appreciated more if I'd have read something like "Facebook's mission is to completely change the world, both the internet world and the actual way people in our entire planet interact between each other", because in the end I believe that it was their goal, and they even achieved it.

  94. Simon Sinek's speech was about how great companies can inspire their customers just by how they express their cause, what they believe, and therefore, their WHY in the mission statement. Sinek's "golden circle" better explains the cause: many companies, as a matter of fact, in their mission statement, start from communicating the product(s) they sell (the WHAT), instead of what they believe, the motive which inspired them in starting their business (the WHY). Let's take American Airlines statement as an example:

WHAT: "American Airlines and American Eagle are in business to provide safe, dependable and friendly air transportation to our customers, along with numerous related services"
HOW: "We are dedicated to making every flight you take with us something special"
WHY: "Your safety, comfort and convenience are our most important concerns"

Using this example, we can see how the WHY of American Airlines is not clear and inspiring, as how Sinek suggested in his speech
